Standin' like a palace to the creatures of the wood
Is the cabin in the forest. I'd' be there if I could.
If I only had the money and if my time were free
I'd be sittin' near the fireplace in the place I ought to be.
My buddy chopping kindling outside on the frosty ground
And I'd be fixin' breakfast and thinking of where we're bound,
Of whether we should go to Shoals and look for the gold that ain't been found
Or go off jeepin' through the trees, o'er the hills and deep vallies,
'Cross the streams and up the walls, or down the creek to the quarry falls.
Doesn't it all sound wonderful? Nothing but time preventin' it all,
And time's a dwindlin' down to scant. I'll soon be doin' what now I can't.
